In this New York Times bestseller, authors Singer and Avery present the compelling concept that global temperatures have been rising mostly or entirely because of a natural cycle. Using historic data from two millennia of recorded history combined with natural physical records, the authors argue that the 1,500 year solar-driven cycle that has always controlled the earth's climate remains the driving force in the current warming trend.

What Customers Say About Unstoppable Global Warming: Every 1,500 Years, Updated and Expanded Edition:

This book should be required reading for every member of Congress. It goes to great scientific lengths to show that yes, the science is settled, and if, in fact there is global warming, it is an unstoppable process that has been going on for many thousands of years, and most definitely is not caused by greenhouse gas emissions.Unstoppable Global Warming: Every 1,500 Years, Updated and Expanded Edition

A thoughtful, challenging book that challenges the prevalent global warming theories. I was particularly impressed by his review of global temperarure changes in the past 1500 years, pARTICULARLY THE LONG PERIOD BEFORE GREENHOUSE GASES INCREASED

This book is a treasure trove of classic climate-denier fallacies. Unfortunately, for readers who don't do any fact-checking or critical analysis, the ideas presented by Fred Singer may seem plausible. An honest scientific inquiry would involve a presentation of facts and analysis of where the facts take you, but the authors cherry-pick available data and rely on mere plausibility to support their pre-determined conclusions. It's a must-read for anyone who needs to defend real climate science in any public forum.

This is an excellent book and I strongly recommend it. So much political hype is being distributed by the uninformed masses that would be reduced if more readers would come forward and distribute this science based book. I am doing just that.

The operating words are "average" and "worldwide." It makes for a fascinating read. However, hundreds of thousands of species have gone extinct during the Earth's many ice ages--and we have loads of archeological evidence of this.

Now I have to buy a second copy because I made the mistake of lending it out. Fred Singer begins by showing all the scientific evidence that the warming trend we are in is not caused by man but rather is part of a solar cycle.

I have read and re-read sections of this book several times. For example, scientists have not uncovered evidence of a single species going extinct during a warming period (okay, one species of toad may have recently gone extinct, though most scientists attribute its demise to clearing for farmland).

He backs his thesis up with loads of emperical evidence. He then demonstrates (again using real evidence rather than computer modeling) why warming trends are not nearly as devastating as ice ages.

Another point: Singer shows that historical records from the British empire and elsewhere indicate that storms worldwide are, on average, less severe during warm periods than cool periods. Too bad some people feel compelled to rate it a "one" because the book dares raise questions.
